Monday, June 13, 2011. We went to the park for a Japanese playdate. All moms put out the tarps to sit on, took off shoes. I tried to keep up in Japanese while chasing Akina around the park. Kai played on the playground with kids and then they all got ice cream at the park. Akina thinks she is part of the group. Again, Akina thinks she is part of the group. Shinra is half dutch and half Japanese. What a great dad! .

I had to share this terrific recipe from my friend, Kim. 1 can corn niblets, drained. 1 can black eyed peas, drained and rinsed. 1 bunch green onions, chopped. 1 bunch cilantro, chopped. Mix together, put on dressing and then stir in avocados. 2 tbls oil, not olive. Serve with tortilla chips! .

The Adventures of T and Z. Thursday, January 16, 2014. We had a very nice family Christmas this year. We began with an enjoyable dinner with friends for Christmas eve. After everyone went home we read the Christmas story and let the kids pick a gift from under the tree. Then it was off to bed. The next morning the kids woke up to perhaps the most traditional Christmas gift - new bikes. Among the gifts was an accompanying cash register so the kids can now play store to their hearts content.
